ABOUT X-HUB TOKYO

X-HUB TOKYO is an exchange platform where entrepreneurs and innovators from Tokyo with global aims come together with individuals involved in innovation ecosystems around the globe.

X-HUB TOKYO will offer opportunities to access global markets and information to entrepreneurs with potential to launch a global startup from Tokyo.

The importance of collaboration and competition in global markets has been growing in recent years. Increasing the number of entrepreneurs aiming to enter global markets from Tokyo requires boosting the degree of maturity of innovation ecosystems in Tokyo. X-HUB TOKYO endeavors to assemble worldwide innovation ecosystems members around the world into Tokyo, increase level of development, and form ecosystems unique to Tokyo. This platform being constructed is to facilitate exchange among promising startups and entrepreneurs already active in Japan and individuals engaged in global innovation in Tokyo, which will serve as a hub, in order to turn Tokyo into a location regarded as global ecosystems such as Silicon Valley, London, and Singapore.

X-HUB Program Contents:

2 programs will be implemented in association with the stage for consideration of global advancement.

Events

The aim is to “ concretely materialize an action plan for global advancement ” through the provision of information from supporters of overseas ventures, viewpoints of entrepreneurs with experience, and global markets.

  • Target Companies: Those that are considering global advancement, but have yet to determine specific methods and locations of expansion and will gather, or are gathering, information.
  • No. of Participants: Approx. 50–200 per event

  • Trends of startup ecosystems around the world & overseas FinTech / Block Chain startup pitch

    Japan is a developing country of start-up ecosystem, compared with countries all over the world. How are ecological systems in place in cities such as Silicon Valley, Boston, Berlin and London and how are they functioning now? It is an opportunity to deepen your understandings about the world today by learning the trend of the startup ecosystem that is useful for both start-ups and large enterprises, and through the pitch of start-ups of FinTech and Block Chain systems that are moving abroad. Be sure to participate.

X-HUB Program

During short-term concentrated courses, the program will provide opportunities to create alliance partners for global advancement through activities such as training to deliver pitches in English, and direct mentoring from VC and accelerators from collaborating partners.

    In this course, we will invite following key institutions from Germany, Berlin/Munich to Tokyo: venture capitalists and accelerators who match business areas and stages of participants, who can help them expand their businesses to one of European leading innovation ecosystems.

    This will provide program recipients with an opportunity for business matching with German key people and essential partner acquisition to step foot in there even in Tokyo.
    Moreover, participants can receive mentoring at a global level which will lead to further understandings of local businesses and their own growth opportunities.

    During the program period, assistance will also be offered that includes legal support to local expansion and professional help with polishing English communication skills.

    Support Course for Expansion to the East Coast, USA

    This course will be implemented together with the local X-HUB TOKYO partner, Venture Café Global Institute (VCGI), which is an innovation community located in the world’s largest facility housing startups, Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC). The course invites to Japan local key persons in innovation eco systems, such as accelerators and venture capitalists, and provides seminars and mentoring to program recipients. In addition, the approximately 3-month course will offer support for expanding to the East Coast of the United States, such as opportunities to participate in acceleration programs. During the program period, assistance will also be offered that includes legal support indispensable to local expansion and professional help with polishing English communication skills.
